Security and release-integrity work can still preempt the feature queue. Priority triage is not guaranteed resolution or 24-hour support.
Enrollment is direct while a public self-service funding account is being established. Sponsorship is not a support contract. Guaranteed response times, resolution commitments, or implementation delivery require a separate enterprise agreement priced for that obligation.

Why support it
Certificate tooling is quiet until it fails.
AcmeMux puts a constrained operational surface around lego without reimplementing ACME or creating a second private-key store. Maintaining that boundary requires ongoing review as certificate authorities, DNS APIs, operating systems, and upstream lego behavior change.
Funding helps keep the project secure and useful without advertising, telemetry, or a hosted demo that can consume public cloud resources.
